Defending human rights and the commons
Created by Danielle Mitterrand in 1986, France Libertés is a non-profit foundation and registered charity that has consultative status with the United Nations Econnomic and Social Council.
In order to help create a world of greater solidarity, the Danielle Mitterrand Foundation defends both human rights, especially the basic right to universal access to water, and the commons.
- SUPPORT – France Libertés supports initiatives on the ground that bring real solutions and change.
- ADVOCACY – France Libertés lobbies decision-makers and local, national and international authorities in order to ensure that human rights are respected.
- AWARENESS-RAISING – France Libertés trains, informs and mobilises citizens.
